1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Margen, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Margen is a personal budgeting tool that helps you track income, expenses, purchases, and savings. The app is provided "as is" for personal, non-commercial use.

3. No Financial Advice

Margen is a budgeting tool only. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. The calculations and projections in the app are estimates and should not be relied upon as financial guidance.

4. User Data

Your financial data is stored locally on your device by default. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your device. We are not responsible for any loss of data.

If you use the Partner Sharing feature, your data is synced to a cloud service. You are responsible for sharing your budget code only with people you trust.

5. Subscriptions and Purchases

Margen offers optional premium features through in-app subscriptions. Subscriptions are billed through Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) according to their respective terms.

• Free trial: New users may receive a 7-day free trial of premium features. The trial does not auto-renew into a paid subscription.
• Subscription management: You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's App Store or Play Store settings.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google per their refund policies.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our services or systems
• Distribute or make the app available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices simultaneously

7. Intellectual Property

Margen and its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We disclaim all warranties including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising from your use of the app.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app or violation of these terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the app at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms or is harmful to other users or us.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
